![]() ![]() The average person can type around 40-50 words per minute on a keyboard and about 20-30 words per minute on an iPhone screen….but you can probably speak at roughly 160 words per minute (or faster if you practice). I’ve found Siri incredibly useful for voice dictation on my iPhone, macOS and Apple Watch. They have also significantly improved Siri in macOS Catalina, with Apple claiming that users will now be able to fully control the system with their voices via its new voice control features. It has a nice interface and some useful functionality.In iOS 13, Apple released a number of Siri improvements for iPhone, iPad, HomePod and Apple Watch. ![]() This program is not actively supported, so if you can't tolerate the bugs, you need to switch to something like Dragon. I type fast, but WSR is faster and doesn't make the spelling mistakes I do, but I seldom dictate more than 2-3 sentences without an error. ![]() I am trying to use it to write a book, and at the moment, the jury is out. Some words are necessary to correct manually (synonyms: hole, whole). You really need to adapt to it - not expect the converse. If you speak in well enunciated phrases instead of couplets, it works much better. It tries to build context from documents you have written, but often, it just seems to use a best guess. After the initial "start listening" command (make sure you see the volume indicator move), go get a drink (of water) and give it some time to rev up.
